UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION KIGALI CELEBRATES UGANDA'S 56th INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY


The Uganda High Commission Kigali hosted diplomats, senior Rwandan government officials, development partners, Ugandans living in Rwanda and other guests, on the 12th October 2018 at the Kigali Serena Hotel to commemorate the 56th Independence Anniversary.


The theme of the day was "Standing tall as we celebrate the achievements of our 56 years of independence".


The High Commissioner, highlighted the achievements the country has achieved over the past 56 years from infrastructure, agriculture, education, tourism, oil and gas to mention but a few. She also informed the guests about Vision 2040 which aims at transforming the economy from a peasantry to a modern and industrious society.


Guests were treated to a cocktail reception and later a sumptuous dinner consisting of variety of Ugandan dishes. There was also an interlude of promotional videos showcasing the beauty of Uganda, right from wildlife, birds, food, infrastructural projects, including the Kampala Express Highway, New Jinja BRIDGE and the hospitality industry.
