UGANDA COMPLETE DOUBLE OVER RWANDA AND MALI AT KWIBUKA WOMEN T20 TOURNAMENT 2019- CRICKET FOR PEACE.

Uganda High Commission Staff led by the Deputy Head of Mission attended the tournament in support of the Ugandan team.

Uganda merged the Runners up after Tanzania in the overall Kwibuka Women T20 tournament which started on June 18, to June 23, 2019.

Rwanda Cricket Association organized the annual Kwibuka women’s International tournament at Gahanga Cricket Stadium that brought together Tanzania, Mali, Uganda and host Rwanda cricketers.

Out of the four individual winners, Uganda won three of them as follows.

1.Best bowler- Joyce Mary Apio (Uganda)

2.Best batter- Rita musamali (Uganda)

3.Best fielder - Rita Musamali (Uganda)

Uganda were runners up having won 4 games out of 6. Two against Rwanda and two against Mali and set a record by scoring the highest ever total in men or women's T20.

Deputy Head of Mission at the Uganda High Commission Ms. Anne Katusiime handed over the Match Award to Ms. Gloria Obukor for her steady innings against Rwanda on Day Five.
