The team from Uganda Public Procurement stakeholders led by Executive Director of Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) Mr. Turamye Benson, paid a courtesy call on H.E Oliver Wonekha, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Rwanda.

They were in Kigali at the invitation of the Director General of Rwanda Public Procurement Authority (RPPA) from April 14-17, 2021 to participate in the 13th East African Procurement Forum (EAPF) hosted by Rwanda under the theme "Strengthening Integrity & Accountability in Public Procurement for an Effective Emergency Response.

The forum takes place every year on a rotational basis and it brings together public procurement players of East African member states to share experience, lessons and challenges facing the procurement functions and to come up with measures aimed at improving the procurement system, Procurement processes and enhancing accountability to the benefit of the citizens.

This year's discussion hinged on Emergency Procurement amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, challenges, lessons and recommendations.

Uganda will be hosting the 14th EAPF in 2022 at a date and theme to be communicated.
